Tina Meier, founder of the Megan Meier Foundation http://www.meganmeierfoundation.org/, keynoted the conference and three of seven breakouts were presented by student teams from Ridgewood Middle, Fox High and Seckman High Schools. Specialists in the law, prevention and cybersafety facilitated workshops that often included web searches. Student teams returned after the breakout sessions to plan their next steps. Their plans included such strategies as:

Surveys to learn the nature and prevalence
Hotline link on district web site so students can alert admininstrators, attach offending Facebook/Myspace/other pages, and report offensive text messages
Hold parent information sessions; set up parent info booths
Educate younger students on what they can do to stop it and protect themselves and their friends.
Develop a support group for students who are bullied, involving them and students with social power
Create a school-wide movement against cyberbullying; ask students to sign a pledge
Research and suggest guidelines for administrators
